The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the acquisition proceedings are now initiated though the possession of the land was taken in the year 2003. It appears that the Notifcation under Section 11 of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (hereinafter referred to as, "the Act, 2013") had been issued on 15th September 2020.

The respondents are bound to conclude the acquisition proceedings within the time stipulated under Section 25 of the Act, 2013.

With the aforesaid, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
