For the reasons separately recorded, the following order is passed :- (i) Appeals are partly allowed as far as the sentence is concerned;

(ii) The conviction of the appellants for the ofences punishable under section 307 read with 34 of the Indian Penal Code is upheld. They are sentenced to the period already undergone. The sentence of fne is maintained;

(iii) They be set at liberty forthwith if not required in any other ofence;

(Iv) Parties to act upon an authenticated copy of the operative part of this order.
