The present PIL is filed making a grievance that Respondent No. 7 has encroached upon Gairan lands.

The learned Government Pleader points out that in Suo Motu Public Interest Litigation No. 2 of 2022, this Court has taken cognizance of such encroachments on Gairan lands generally and issued directions for their removal. Once such general directions are issued, we do not find any warrant to entertain an individual PIL in respect of a specific structure/encroachment.

We grant liberty to the Petitioner to bring the facts mentioned in this PIL to the Collector, Kolhapur (Respondent No. 3). The Collector, Kolhapur will go through the contents of the PIL and proceed as per the general directions issued in Suo Motu PIL No. 2 of 2022 after ensuring that the facts pleaded in this PIL are correct and require action.

The PIL is accordingly disposed of.
