Heard learned Counsel appearing for the Petitioner and learned APP for the State. Petition is filed for the following reliefs :

"a.

That this Hon'ble Court be pleased to issue writ of mandamus or any appropriate writ and direct the the Investigating Officer in C.R.No. I-104 of 2016 registered with Madhyavarti Police Station, Thane to submit the investigation report before this Hon'ble Court.

b.

That this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to issue a writ of mandamus and direct Respondent No. 1 and 2 to consider the representation dated 14/07/2-016 and provide twenty four hours police protection to the Petitioner free of cost and without any charges."

So far as relief claimed in prayer clause (a) is concerned, this Court by the order dated 6th May 2016 passed in Writ Petition No. 1448 of 2016 handed over investigation into the said crime to the Senior Inspector of Police of Central Police Station, Ulhasnagar and the Assistant Commissioner of Police was directed to supervise this investigation. The Court also directed that investigation shall be completed at the earliest. Learned APP placed on record reports dated 12th and 13th December 2016 made by the Senior Inspector of Police, Central Police Station, Ulhasnagar. The reports disclose that investigation into the said CR is being carried out under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Police. Learned APP, on instructions, submitted that investigation into the said CR would be completed within six weeks from today. Statement is accepted.

So far as relief claimed in prayer clause (b) is concerned, the report dated 13th December 2016 made by the Senior Inspector of police shows that the Petitioner has been granted police protection free of cost for the period of three months. Mr. Yagnik, learned APP states that further course of action would be decided taking into consideration the threat perception to the Petitioner. Statement is accepted. In that view of the matter, grievance raised in prayer clause (b) would no more survive.

In the light of above, petition is disposed of. 5.
