The Applicants, who are the in-laws of Sapna Vhankade, who committed suicide at her matrimonial house by hanging on 22.09.2021, are seeking anticipatory bail in connection with the investigation of Crime No. 513 of 2021 registered with Daund Police Station, Dist. Pune under Section 306, 498-A, 504, 506, 323 read with Section 34 of IPC.

I have heard the learned counsel for the parties. Perused record.

The Applicant No.1 and 2 are the parents-in-law. The Applicant No.3 is the brother-in-law, while the Applicant No.5 is the married sister-in-law of the deceased. The Applicant No.4 is the wife of Applicant No.3.

With the assistance of the learned counsel for the parties, I have gone through the FIR, which is registered by the father of the deceased as also the letters written by the deceased. Prima facie, it appears that the material allegation of ill-treatment is against the husband, who was arrested and has been released on bail. The allegations against the Applicants are general in nature that is of instigating the husband which led to ill-treatment of the deceased at the hands of the husband.

The record discloses that interim protection was granted to the Applicants on 25.10.2021.

Considering the over all circumstances, the following order is passed:
ORDER
i) In the event of their arrest, in connection with the investigation of Crime No. 513 of 2021 registered with Daund Police Station, Dist. Pune, Applicant No.1 Umakant Maruti Vhankade, Applicant No.2 Malan Umakant Vhankade, Applicant No.3 Shrikant Umakant Vhankade, Applicant No.4 Sneha Chavan page 2 of 3
Varsha Shrikant Vhankade and Applicant No.5 Swati Nilesh Kshirsagar shall be released on bail on executing a PR Bond in the sum of Rs.25,000/- each with one or two solvent sureties each in the like amount.
ii) The Applicants shall report to the Investigating Officer on 7 and 8 March 2022 between 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and as and when required by the Investigating Officer and shall co-operate with the investigating agency.

The Criminal application is disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
