By this petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the respondent No. 4 - Senior Police Inspector, D. B. Marg Police Station, Mumbai, to appoint a Special Police Officer, as per Section 13 of the Immortal Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 ("PITA Act"), for the area, Chaitanya Jadhav 1/2

36-Wp-707-2024.doc where the immoral activities are being conducted. Further direction is sought to carry out investigation on the basis of the information furnished by the petitioner, in respect of the First Information Report No. 56 of 2023.

Mrs. Shinde, learned A.P.P. on instructions states that Ms. Anita Kadam, P.I., Social Services Branch, Mumbai, has been appointed as a Special Police Officer, under Section 13 of the PITA Act, for the area in question. She further assures that the police will take appropriate steps in accordance with law, as mandated under the PITA Act.

In view of the aforesaid statements made by the learned A.P.P., nothing survives for further consideration in the petition. Accordingly, the petition stands disposed of. MANJUSHA DESHPANDE, J.
