The above writ petition seeks directions to initiate enquiry against the responsible government officials involved in the illegal activities and after receipt of enquiry report, the directions to the appropriate authorities to initiate necessary proceedings against the wrong doers.

A reading of the averments in the petition discloses that the petition is founded on the excess billing of the

Dusane 2/2 25 wp 3304.2017 electricity consumed by the petitioner, which is supplied by the MSEDCL. We are afraid that having regard to the prayers, which we have adverted hereinabove, such a relief which is general in nature cannot be granted by us in our writ jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution of India. If the petitioner is aggrieved by the excess billing, the petitioner is at liberty to take appropriate recourse in law.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is dismissed.
