After having heard both sides, we do not find any reason to grant ad-interim relief.
The papers were produced urgently and only with an intent to introduce the petitioners in the on going admission process. We find that the on going admission process has now come to an end and what has been notified as a cut-off date for all type of admissions for the academic year 2018-2019 is M.M.Salgaonkar 1/3
14th August 2018, which follows the stages where the rounds of admission are over, even the additional round is over, the allotment is firm and final and the candidates and the institutes now have been provided with an opportunity of allowing the students to report and consequently the management of the college to confirm that admission. The commencement of academic activities for all institutes is notified as 1st August 2018. The cut-off date for all type of admissions may be 14th August 2018, but Mr.Mali, learned AGP states that the Directorate of Technical Eduction is not intending to hold any further rounds. All rounds of admission are over. In these circumstances, the last date for uploading the list of admitted candidates being 16th August 2018, introduction of the petitioners at this stage would not be proper.
That would give the petitioners an advantage of taking away students from the merit list, who have already been allotted the other colleges. Merely because the students have changed their mind does not mean that petitioners deserve or are entitled to be introduced in the common admission process at this belated stage.

We are sure that for the next academic session, the petitioners will be given an opportunity to join the common admission process by having their names included in the portal/ website/ information brochure of the Directorate of Technical Education.
In the circumstances by accepting Mr.Mali's statement, made on instructions, that the petitioners would be considered for inclusion of their names in the common admission process for the next academic session 2019-2020, we dispose of this writ petition.
