Both these Petitions can be disposed of by a common order as the issues involved in the proceedings are quite similar. 3.

Both the Petitioners, which are Cricket Associations of the Territory of Daman and Diu and Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman 15 February, 2024

45-55 WP493-23-6522-23.DOC and Diu Cricket Association, are before the Court with a grievance that their applications / representations made to Respondent No.1-Board of Control for Cricket in India ("BCCI"), for affiliation as to associate membership are not being decided by the BCCI.

It is not in dispute that, in so far as the first Petition (Writ Petition No.493 of 2023), is concerned, applications dated 18th February 2019, 11th March 2019, 20th May 2019, 24th February 2022, 10th March 2022, 18th April 2022 and 1st May 2022 were made which need to be decided by the BCCI. 5.

In so far as the second Petition (Writ Petition No.6522 of 2023), is concerned, the learned counsel for the Petitioner states that the applications were made on 7th August 2020 and, thereafter, on 7th December 2021. 6.

In our opinion, it would be appropriate to dispose of these Petitions directing BCCI to take a decision on the Petitioners' applications after giving to the Petitioners an opportunity of a hearing and of producing all relevant documents. Such applications be decided as expeditiously as possible, and, in any event, within a period of six months from today without a further extension.

In so far as the second Petition is concerned, copies of the applications dated 7th August 2020 and 7th December 2021 be also furnished to the Advocate for BCCI within one week from today. 8.

We dispose of these Petitions in the aforesaid terms keeping open all contentions of the parties. No costs.
