Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned AGP for the respondents. The learned counsel for the petitioners states that the second petitioner is personally present in the Court. It is pointed out in the petition that the petitioners have filed four separate applications to the District Collector at Pune for regrant of Mahar Watan Lands.
The learned counsel for the petitioners invited our attention to the letters at page Nos.41 and 42 of the petition.
The applications made by the petitioners have been forwarded by the Additional Collector to the Sub Divisional Officer, Haveli for making necessary enquiry and for necessary action. The Additional Collector, Pune, subsequently, informed the first petitioner by letter dated 19th April 2014 that the applications have been forwarded to the Office of
wp8560 Tahsildar with a direction to the Tahsildar to submit a report.
The learned AGP has no instructions as regards the status of the applications made by the petitioners. The learned counsel for the petitioners states that the applications are still pending.
We accept the statement made by the learned counsel for the petitioners on instructions.
Accordingly, we dispose of the petition by passing the following order:
(I) We direct the petitioner to produce an authenticated copy of this order along with true copies of pending applications before the District Collector, Pune;
(II) We direct the District Collector, Pune or any other Officer nominated by him to dispose of the applications dated 3rd September 2013, 30th September 2013, 26th August 2014, and 28th August 2014 as expeditiously as possible and in any event within a period of three months from the date on which an authenticated copy of this order is produced by the petitioners;
(III) All contentions on merits are kept open;
(IV) Writ petition is disposed of on above terms.
