Petitioners seek a direction to Government to expedite the process of extension of area of Chakan and Rajgurunagar Municipal Council.

The representations to that effect has been made to the State Government and are pending. It appears that, some of the villagers are opposing the move. One of the communications shows that Municipal Council, Chakan has been established recently and is still not properly functioning. 3.

The provisions of law permit area extension if certain contingencies are satisfied. Petitioners have not explained anywhere factors which have bearing on area extension or compliance therewith. However, since the move appears to be already initiated, we are inclined to grant petitioners leave to make appropriate representation and to approach this Court again with necessary data, if it is not attended to. 4.

With this liberty, we dispose off the petition.
