The matter is circulated before this Court today, as the Regular Court is not available.

Heard learned Senior Counsel for the applicant and the learned A.P.P.

By this application, the applicant seeks his enlargement on

2/3 bail, pending the hearing and disposal of the aforesaid Criminal Appeal. 4.

The applicant has been convicted for the alleged offence punishable under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act and has been sentenced to suffer R.I for 6 months and to pay a fine of Rs.1,000/- and in default to undergo S.I for 1 month. The applicant has also been convicted for the offence punishable under Section 13(1)(d) r/w Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and has been sentenced to suffer R.I for 1 year and to pay a fine of Rs.500/- and in default to undergo S.I for 1 month.

It is not in dispute that the applicant was on bail, pending trial. Accordingly, the application is allowed and the applicant is enlarged on bail on the following terms and conditions:-

ORDER

(i) The Applicant be enlarged on bail on furnishing P.R. Bond in the sum of Rs.25,000/- with one or two sureties in the like amount.

The Application is allowed in the aforesaid terms and is accordingly disposed of.
