On merits, the petitions have been disposed of. The learned Additional Solicitor General, on instructions, states that as far as Customs matters are concerned, an arrangement is being worked out for creating a facility for accepting service of all categories of Customs matters in a particular office in Mumbai. We must note here that even in case of Income-Tax matters and Excise matters, a similar facility will have to be created for accepting service of all matters filed at Principal Seat at Mumbai. It will be ideal, if for all three categories of matters, a particular

SKN 2/2 10181.17-wp-- office in Mumbai is designated to accept the service on behalf of the Departments of Excise, Customs and Income-Tax matters filed in the Principal Seat of the Court at Mumbai. Similar facilities will have to be created as regards the matters filed at Benches at Nagpur and Aurangabad. We direct the Union of India to take appropriate decision. 2.
