The case of the petitioner is that the Government should properly consider the facts of his case and prematurely release him. The petitioner is a life convict. The learned APP states that as of 31.5.2016, the petitioner has completed actual imprisonment of 13 years 4 months and 1 day and with remission, he has completed 18 years, 3 months and 21 days. She further states that the case of the petitioner has been sent to the Home Department for categorisation so that he can be prematurely released. 3.

As the case of the petitioner is already being considered by the Home Department, in our opinion, no further orders are necessary except 1 / 2

wp.3777.2014_9.doc to direct the Home Department to take a final decision within eight weeks from today.

With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. 5.

Learned APP to communicate this order to the Home Department. 6.

Office to communicate this order to the petitioner, who is in Kolhapur Central prison, Kalamba, Kolhapur.
