This contempt petition has been against the contemnor, on the ground that the contemnors have not followed the directions of this Court, contained in the judgment of the Division Bench of this Court dated 7th January, 2014, in Criminal Application No.399 of 2013 in Writ Petition No.499 of 2012.

By the aforesaid judgment, the Division Bench of this Court, directed respondents to pay an amount of Rs.5 lacs to the petitioner as compensation for his illegal detention from 25th January, 2012 to 30th Page No.1 of 2

CP 495 OF 2014.doc January, 2012, within 8 weeks from the date of the judgment. 3.

It appears that there was delay in complying with the directions of this Court and ultimately an amount of Rs.5 lacs was paid to the petitioner on 14.2.2015 by a cheque dated 11th February, 2015 which was cleared on 14.2.2015.

Thus, there was delay on behalf of respondent No.1 in compliance of the directions issued by this Court. 5.

We have heard the learned counsel for the parties. No doubt there is delay in compliance of the order of this Court. However, in the light of the fact that there has been substantial compliance, we do not consider this to be a fit case for taking any further action under the Contempt of Courts Act.

Contempt petition is accordingly dismissed.
