We have heard this matter for some time. Learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions, seeks leave of the Court to withdraw the petition with liberty to file representation to respondent for extending the passport issued to the petitioner just for one year, for a further period of nine years more. Leave with liberty as prayed for is granted provided representation is made within two weeks from the date of the order and in case such representation is made, same shall be decided by the respondent authority in accordance with law, after taking into consideration the relevant provisions of the Passport Act, 1967 and the rules made thereunder and also the law laid down by this Court in the case of '

Ors 1 as early as possible, preferably within a period of two weeks from the date of appearance of the petitioner before the respondent. Needless to say that petitioner shall be granted hearing in this matter. Petitioner shall appear before Regional Passport Office, Bandra, Mumbai on 16th October 2023.
