Heard the learned counsel for the Petitioner and learned APP for the Respondent-State. This writ petition is filed through prison making allegations against the members of escort party police, who escorted the Petitioner to the Court on 23rd August 2013. 2.

By the order dated 10th December 2013, this Court directed the District Superintendent of Police, District Sangli to nominate an officer not below the rank of Dy. Superintendent of Police to hold an enquiry in the allegations made in the petition and submit a report.

In pursuance of the directions given by this Court, the District Superintendent of Police, Sangli appointed the Sub Divisional Police Officer, Islampur to make an enquiry in respect of the patilsr 1 / 2

allegations made in the writ petition. The Sub Divisional Police Officer, Islampur thereafter made an enquiry into the allegations made by the Petitioner and came to the conclusion that there is no substance in the allegations made by the Petitioner. He also came to the conclusion that allegations made by the Petitioner could not be substantiated. Report of the Sub Divisional Police Officer is forwarded to this Court by the Dist. Superintendent of Police, Sangli under his covering letter dated 26th January 2014.
