Heard learned Counsel appearing for the Petitioner and learned APP for the State. Petition is filed seeking direction to the Respondents to provide police protection to the Petitioner. 2.

Learned APP submitted that the Petitioner has made an application / representation dated 3rd August 2016 seeking police protection. She submitted that earlier also the Petitioner had made similar type of 8 applications and those applications have been rejected. She further submitted that CR No. 350 of 2012 is registered against the Petitioner at Mulund Police Station for extortion. She submitted that report from the concerned Police Station is called for and after receipt of the said report, the Petitioner's representation for police protection would be decided within two weeks from today. In the light of above, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the Respondents to decide the Petitioner's application dated 3rd August 2016 for police protection independently and on its own merits and communicate the decision thereof to the Petitioner within two weeks from today.
