Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner on 3rd December, 2015 filed representation to the Vice Chancellor, University of Mumbai, Mumbai wherein he prayed to consider previous service of the petitioner in PWD, Government of Maharashtra from 23rd December, 1970 to 27th October, 1983 and after the said services are recommended, grant consequential benefits to the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that the University favourably recommended the case of the petitioner to the Joint Director (Higher Education) Mumbai Region, Mumbai, however, Respondent No.2 - Joint Director has not yet taken decision on the said proposal submitted by the Registrar, University of Mumbai, therefore, he prayed that Respondent No.2 - Joint Director may be directed to take decision on the said proposal submitted by the Registrar, University of Mumbai on 5th March, 2016.

We direct Respondent No.2 to take final decision, if already not taken, on the aforesaid proposal dated 5th March, 2016 forwarded by the Registrar, University of Mumbai to Respondent No.2 as expeditiously as possible, however, within 10 weeks from today. Needless to observe that if Respondent No.2 feel it necessary to hear petitioner, it will be open for Respondent No.2 to call the petitioner for submitting additional documents, if any, or for hearing. 4.

With the above observations, the writ petition stands disposed of.
