The petitioners are aggrieved by non-inclusion of the local area of the petitioners' Gram Panchayat in the larger urban area of Panvel Municipal Corporation.

By passing a separate order in writ petition No.10175 of 2016, we have upheld the said notification dated 26th September, 2016 issued under section 3(2) of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporations Act, 1949, for formation of a larger urban area of Panvel Municipal Corporation. Shubhada S Kadam 1/2

Wp 11276.16 Be that as it may, in exercise of writ jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, we are unable to grant any relief for inclusion of the area of petitioners' Gram Panchayat in the larger urban area of the Panvel Municipal Corporation. The petition is devoid of any merit and the same is, accordingly, dismissed.
