Heard the learned counsel for the contempt petitioner as well as the respondent - alleged contemnor. Mr.Ramesh Shinde appearing for the contempt petitioner submits that the Slum Rehabilitation Authority shall pass its final order in the matter avk 1/2
16-CP-120-2019.doc under Exhibit N/1 within a period of four weeks from today. We make it clear that the Slum Rehabilitation Authority should act with due haste, particularly keeping in mind the nature of responsibility cast upon them by the Statute and the interests of the poorest of the poor have to be protected and we do not appreciate delay that has caused in compliance of the order. We further direct that compliance affidavit be filed before this court within the period of one week after the four weeks. The contempt petition stands disposed off.
Registry to de-list this matter before this court after six weeks, if the compliance affidavit is not filed by the Slum Rehabilitation Authority, as directed.
