Feeling aggrieved by the inclusion of the names of the deceased and non resident persons in the final voter's list dated 24th August, 2018 published for the Ranjangaon Ganpati Grampanchayata Election, petitioner has approached this court by filing this petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking the following reliefs :

"(b) This Hon'ble Court may be pleased to issue a writ of mandamus or writ in the nature of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction, directing the respondents to take necessary steps for making corrections in voters list by deleting the names of the deceased and non-resident persons from the final voters list dated 24th August, 2018 of Ranjangaon Ganpati, Taluka Shirur, District Pune and to complete this process before the date of elections i.e. before 26th September, 2018.

6-wp-10008.2018.doc (c ) The Hon'ble Court may be pleased to postpone the elections in the event the Respondents are unable to make the necessary corrections in the voters list of Ranjangaon Ganpati Village on or before 25th September, 2018 to such date by which the Respondents may be in a position to make the necessary corrections in the voters list." 2.

Learned counsel for the respondents have oppose the prayers. According to learned counsel for respondent no. 4, petitioner can approach the respondent no. 4 for redressal of his grievance up to 31st October, 2018 and the respondent no. 4 as provided under section 22 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950 shall consider the petitioner's representation for inclusion of the correct names and deletion of the names which are incorrectly recorded in the final voter's list and appropriate corrections will be made in accordance with law. 3.

In view of the aforesaid statement, we dispose of this petition with liberty to the the petitioner to submit a fresh detailed representation before respondent no.4 within two weeks. On receipt of the same, respondent no. 4 shall consider and take appropriate decision on it in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible.
