By this petition filed under section 29A(5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1966, one of the respondents before the arbitrator has approached this Court seeking extension of time by six months for passing of award by the sole arbitrator. 2.

Respondent Nos. 2 to 8 also being the original respondents before the arbitrator have supported the payer made in the present application. Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the contesting respondent herein stated that she also has instructions to support the prayer made in this petition.

15.AP.175.2022.doc granted for sufficient cause being shown. It is brought to the notice of this Court that the arbitration proceedings are at the stage of final arguments and declaration of award. In fact, it is stated that as on today final arguments are also concluded and all that remains is declaration of award by the learned Arbitrator. 4.

In view of the above, this Court is of the opinion that sufficient cause is made out for granting the prayer made in the present petition. Accordingly, the petition is allowed in terms of prayer clause (A) which reads as follows :

"(A) that the this Hon'ble Court be please to grant extension to the Arbitration Proceedings between the parties before the Ld. Sole Arbitrator, for further period of six months for passing the Award as per Section 29-A(5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996."
