The Public Interest Petition highlights illegal allotment of Transferable Development Rights (TDR) by officers of the 3rd Respondent.

The response by the Deputy Secretary, Urban Development Department, Government of Maharashtra informs that after inquiry, 55 illegal allotment of TDRs were noted and departmental action was initiated by issuing charge-sheets against

The response also brings out that an FIR for offences punishable under Sections 166-A, 167, 406, 408, 409, 418, 420, 468, 120-B read with Section 34 IPC and Section 13(1)(d)(ii) and 15 of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 have been registered in which 15 officers have been named as accused; one officer is absconding and others were granted anticipatory bail by this Court.

Since the action has been taken as contemplated by law against the offenders, no further directions are required in the Public Interest Petition. The notice is discharged. 4.
