Having heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner and learned AGP for the State, we are of the opinion that this petition can be conveniently disposed of by directing respondent No. 2-Additional Commissioner, Pune Division, at Pune/Commissioner, Pune Division at Pune to dispose of the appeal bearing Appeal No. VPT/Appeal/Solapur/- 21/2016 filed by the petitioner under section 16(2) of the Maharashtra Village Panchayat Act, copy of which is annexed at Exh. A, as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. Ordered accordingly. Talwalkar 1/2

37.wp13129.17.doc It is made clear that we have not gone into merits of the matter. All points and contentions of the respective parties are kept open. Respondent shall decide the said application independently on its own merits and in accordance with law.

In order to enable Respondent to comply with this order, the Petitioner shall remain present before the respondent-committee alongwith copy of the said application as well as copy of this order on 16/4/2018 at 11 a.m..
