Having heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner and learned AGP for the State, we deem it convenient to dispose of this petition by directing respondent-Scheduled Tribe Certificate Scrutiny Committee, Nashik to decide the petitioner's caste claim that he belongs to "Hindu Thakur" Scheduled Tribe, as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of six months from receipt of copy of this order. Ordered accordingly.

We have given the direction referred above, since the petitioner's application to that effect is pending with the respondent Talwalkar 1/2

It is made clear that we have not gone into merits of the matter. All points and contentions of the respective parties are kept open. Respondent shall decide the said application independently on its own merits and in accordance with law.

In order to enable Respondent to comply with this order, the Petitioner shall remain present before the respondent-committee alongwith copy of the said application as well as copy of this order on 16/4/2018 at 11 a.m..
