Learned counsel for the applicant does not press this application on merits. However, she requests that the trial of the applicant be expedited, having regard to the peculiar facts and circumstances of this case.

Accordingly, the application is dismissed as not pressed. However, having regard to the fact that the victim girl was aged 8 years and SQ Pathan 1/2

15-BA-2485-2019.doc the witnesses about 3-4 years, it would be in the interest of justice to expedite the trial of the applicant, lest, the victim girl/witnesses who are of tender age, may forget the incident due to passage of time. Accordingly, the learned trial Judge to conclude the case as expeditiously as possible and in any event, within 9 months from the date of receipt of this order.

In the event, the trial does not conclude within the said period, for no fault of the applicant, the applicant is at liberty to file a fresh application seeking his enlargement on bail.
