Pursuant to the order dated 10th January, 2018, the learned APP for the respondent/State produces affidavit dated 16th January, 2018 of Mr. Raju R. Thubal, Assistant Police Inspector, Pimpri Police Station, Pune, which is taken on record. The affidavit discloses that the applicant/accused himself has not engaged any counsel. On 5th December, 2017, the applicant/accused preferred an application through jail for appointing legal aid advocate. The trial Court on 1st January, 2018 referred the said letter to the Legal Aid Panel and now the matter is adjourned to 29th January, 2018. 1 / 2

In view of the above, the trial Court to take note that the applicant/accused is under-trial prisoner and hence, the dates are not to be given long. After appointment of the advocate from the legal aid panel, the learned Sessions Judge to endeavor to hear the matter and complete the trial within a period of six months from today. The learned Sessions Judge to give proper direction to the Prosecutor and I.O. to examine only relevant witnesses and not to go on repeating witnesses.
