P.C. :- The long and the short of the Writ Petition is that after conducting an enquiry into the working of the various Co-operative Societies vide letter dated 11 May 2018, the Commissioner of Social Welfare wrote to the State Government to cancel the registration of the 82 societies listed alongwith the recommendation. The grievance is to the State Government not having taken a final decision on said letter.

The second grievance relates to a letter dated 11 May 2018 addressed by the Commissioner of Social Welfare to the Assistant Commissioner, Social Welfare, Kolhapur directing that a detailed proposal be prepared in respect to 43 societies listed in the list attached to the letter and to initiate recovery proceedings under the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code.

We see no reason why the State Government should not pass final orders pursuant to the first recommendation and the officer concerned to submit the necessary proposal as contemplated by the second letter.

We dispose of the Petition directing the State Government to take a decision on the first letter referred to above and communicate the same to the Petitioner. We direct the officer named in the second letter to comply with the same within six weeks.
