By this petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents to consider petitioner's complaint/request letter for police protection.
Learned A.P.P has filed an affidavit of Shri Mahesh Dharmaraj Chimate, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Protection), Mumbai dated 5th January 2024.

In para 7 of the affidavit, it is stated that after making inquiry, the Additional Commissioners of Police, West Region, Special Branch-1 and Crime Branch, Mumbai have forwarded their respective reports to the respondent No. 3 Office, wherein, it is found that there is no substance in the allegations made by the petitioner with respect to threats to him and as such, it is not necessary to provide police protection to the petitioner. Further in para 8 of the said affidavit, it is stated that the Additional Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) has sent his report, wherein, it is stated that whenever the petitioner visits Mumbai, he would stay in a Hotel at Juhu and that no complaint with regard to threats to the life of the petitioner is registered, till date and hence, it was not necessary to provide police protection to the petitioner.
Considering the affidavit of the respondents, it appears that at present, there is no real threat to the petitioner, 2/3
warranting grant of relief as sought for in the petition, at this stage.
Accordingly, the petition stands dismissed.
Needless to state that if an occasion so arises in future, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the appropriate Authority for police protection. If a complaint is made to the concerned authority, the authority to look into the said grievance and decide the said representation/complaint in accordance with law.
Petition stands disposed of accordingly.
