Challenge in this petition is to an order dated 31 May, 2016 passed by the Additional Collector, Raigad whereby the petitioner was disqualified from continuing as a member and to contest election for the period of next 5 years. The said order disqualifying the petitioner was confirmed by the Additional Commissioner, Konkan Division by an order dated 28 September, 2016 passed on an appeal being Appeal No.645 of 2016 filed by the petitioner. Period of 5 years from the date of the said order is already over. Hence, this petition has become infructuous. It is ------------------------- 20 January, 2023

WRIT PETITION NO. 11735 OF 2016 :- 1.

The petitioner approached this Court by filing this petition having been disqualified from continuing as a member and to contest election for the period of next 5 years vide an order dated 31 May, 2016 passed by the Additional Collector, Raigad as confirmed by the order dated 28 September, 2016 passed in an appeal being Appeal No. 646 of 2016 which is subject matter of the present proceedings. It appears that the period of 5 years from the date of the said order is already over and hence, the petition has become infructuous. It is accordingly disposed of.
