This is an application through jail.

The applicant/accused is being prosecuted for the offence under MCOC Act. The applicant has prayed for expediting the trial. The learned APP tendered the report submitted by the concerned police station. In the said report, it is stated that there are about 60 prosecution witnesses in the proceedings. 4 witnesses are already examined. Learned APP further submitted on the instructions from the officer, who is present in the Court that one of the accused has preferred an application for bail bearing Criminal Bail Application No.1934 of 2017, which has been disposed of by this Court on 12th February 2018 and the Trial Court has been directed to conclude the trial within a period of

MMS 2/2 20 APPP 905-17 one year. In the circumstances, taking into consideration the fact that the trial has already been expedited, no order is required to be passed granting the relief prayed by the applicant in this application. Application stands disposed of. 2.

The Registry is directed to communicate this order to the accused through the Superintendent of Jail where the applicant/accused has been detained.
