After this writ petition was placed earlier and today also, we called upon Mr.Rajeshirke to make a specific statement as to whether the first respondent-the National Council of Teachers Education (NCTE) will consider the application of the petitioners on merits and not reject it only on the ground that the payment has been made after the due date, according to the NCTE. Though the petitioners have denied the fact of delayed or late payment, Mr.Rajeshirke has been instructed to inform this court that the first respondent will allow the petitioners to participate and the J.V.SALUNKE,PS

501-WPST.25405.2019.doc application of the petitioners will be considered on its own merits and in accordance with law. It will not be rejected on the ground of the alleged delayed payment.

Once this factual position emerges from the instructions received by Mr.Rajeshirke and the grievance of the petitioners is substantially redressed, nothing survives in the writ petition. It is disposed of accordingly.
