The learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the caste certificate was issued to the petitioner by the Sub Divisional Officer, Alibag, however, with the wrong nomenclature of the caste. The spelling of "Mahadev" was wrongly spelt in the caste certificate as "Mahadeo".

The learned advocate submits that the petitioner has filed online application with the SDO so also application in physical form along with attested copy of the caste certificate received from the Caste Scrutiny Committee.

In that case, the SDO shall verify with the original caste certificate issued by its office and upon verification of the original caste certificate, the SDO shall issue fresh caste certificate to the petitioner with correct spelling as "Mahadev" within six weeks from today.

The writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
