IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT BOMBAY

CIVIL APPELLATE JURISDICTION WRIT PETITION NO.1118 OF 2019 Vyankatesh Babruwan Shinde .... Petitioner Vs.

State of Maharashtra & Others .... Respondents AND WRIT PETITION NO.1127 OF 2019 Kishor Vitthalrao Tummod .... Petitioner Vs.

State of Maharashtra & Others .... Respondents Mr. R.K. Mendadkar for the Petitioner in both petitions. Mr. S.B. Kalel, AGP, for the Respondent-State in both petitions.

CORAM: S.C. DHARMADHIKARI & M.S. KARNIK, JJ.

DATE : JANUARY 28, 2019 P.C:

1.

These writ petitions seek protection to the effect that the petitioners have continued their education in the College against a reserved seat but without a Certificate of Validity being

suresh 21-22-WPG-1118.2019.doc issued. The stock argument canvassed in both these matters is that the petitioners have no control over the proceedings of the Scrutiny Committee. The Committee is yet to decide the claim and now the petitioners have completed the Engineering course. 2.

We do not grant any relief to the petitioners insofar as their admission or any degree. All that we direct is that the Scrutiny Committee should expedite the proceedings before it and endeavour to pass final orders within a period of six months from today.

3.

We clarify that we have not granted any protection to the petitioners.

4.

The writ petitions are disposed of.
