This is an application received through jail for expeditious hearing of Sessions Case No.166 of 2014 pending on the file Sessions Court, Greater Bombay. The Applicant is in custody since 18.11.2013. 2.
The report placed on record by the learned APP indicates that the charge was framed on 17.10.2015. In all 16 witnesses are to be examined. The learned APP has submitted that the trial has already commenced and the evidence of the complainant is being recorded.

The grievance of the Applicant is that the case is delayed 1/3
because he was not produced before the Court on the dates fixed for hearing. Said grievance can be alleviated by giving necessary directions to the Superintendent of the concerned Jail as well as the Investigating Officer to produce the Applicant on each and every date of hearing.

Considering the fact that the trial has already commenced and also the fact that the Applicant is in custody since 2013, in my considered view the said case needs to be decided as expeditiously as possible. Hence, the learned Sessions Judge is directed to make every possible endeavour to dispose of the case expeditiously and in any event within a period of eight months from the date of receipt of this order. The superintendent of concerned jail as well as the Investigating Officer are directed to ensure that the Applicant herein be produced before the Sessions Judge on each and every date of hearing. 5.
In view of the above observation, the application stands disposed of. The copy of this order be served on the Applicant through the superintendent of jail.

Mr. Gaurav Parkar, the learned counsel appointed to represent the Applicant be paid fees quantified at Rs.1000/- within two months.
