Heard learned counsel for the parties.

By this interim application, filed in the aforesaid petition, the applicant seeks a direction to the Passport Authority to renew her passport for ten years.

Learned counsel for the applicant submits that there is no embargo placed by any Court on the applicant for travelling or of seeking permission of the Court before travelling. He further submits that the Passport Authority be directed to renew the applicant's passport for ten years, in accordance with the Passport Act and Rules thereunder.

It appears that the applicant's passport expired on 27th June, 2021, pursuant to which, the applicant filed an application seeking renewal of her passport, before the Passport Authority. However, the Passport Authority raised certain objection, with respect to the pending case. Admittedly, there is no embargo on the applicant to travel abroad.

Considering the peculiar facts, we allow the application and direct the respondent no.2-Passport Authority to renew the applicant's passport for a period of ten years, in accordance with the Passport Act and Rules thereunder.

Interim Application stands disposed of accordingly. 7.
