The Petitioner is a Corporator of Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation. He makes grievance of rampant unauthorised constructions in the areas within the jurisdiction of the Corporation and in the Public Interest Litigation desires a committee to be appointed to fix responsibility on the erring officers and direct demolition of the unauthorised structures.

In the Petition there is no averment as to what steps Petitioner took as a Corporator. Whether the Petitioner raised this issue in the meetings of the Corporation? Nothing has been pleaded. Did, as a Corporator, the Petitioner call upon the Commissioner of the Corporation to take action? There are no pleadings. The Public Interest Petition is accordingly dismissed.
