The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had challenged the eligibility of respondent No.1 in contesting the elections as a Councillor. The fresh elections are already held in 2017. Hence, the prayers in the petition have become infructuous. However, it is made clear that since fresh elections were already held in 2017, this Court has not gone into the merits of the present matter. All contentions are kept open to be raised in further proceedings.

The Petition stands disposed of.
