Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned APP for the State.

By this petition, the petitioner is challenging the show cause notice issued under section 59 of the Maharashtra Police Act. The learned APP on instructions makes a statement that subsequent to this notice, petitioner has been externed under section 56 of the Act. This statement is not disputed by the learned counsel for the petitioner. If that be so, the petitioner has alternate efficacious remedy available under section 60 by way of an appeal. In the circumstances, we are not inclined to entertain this writ petition which is accordingly dismissed.
