The applicant is admitted to the interim protection by order dated 11/10/2019. The statement of the applicant came to be recorded to the effect that he has paid Rs.3,45,000/- to the BEST Department and the matter has been placed before the Review Committee, which has reduced the assessment amount from Rs.9,58,592/- to Rs.6,14,592/-.

The offence invoked in the concerned C.R. is under Section 135 of the Electricity Act. In view of the fact that the interim relief is operating in favour of the applicant and since the custodial interrogation of the applicant is not warranted for the offence under the Electricy Act, order dated 11/10/2019 is made absolute, subject to the stipulation that the applicant shall continue to co-operate with the investigation.
