The applicant is the accused in Sessions Case No. 58 of 2014 pending on the file of learned District Judge-2 and Additional Sessions Judge,Karad,Dist.Satara. By this application the applicant / accused is praying for expeditious disposal of the trial pending against him.

Heard the learned APP as well as Shri Sarda, Advocate, appointed as amicus curiae, for the applicant / accused. Perused the reports submitted by learned District Judge-2 and Additional Sessions Judge, Karad, vide letters dated 10.06.2016 and 22.06.2016. It is seen that the applicant/accused is being prosecuted for the offences Borey 1/2

spb/ 5ba2201-15.doc punishable under sections 489(B) and 489(C) of the Indian Penal Code. The learned trial court has informed that the prosecution intends to examine 17 witnesses and trial will be decided expeditiously.

As the applicant/ accused is under trial prison and as the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Karad has reported that the sessions case will be decided by giving top priority, this application is disposed of with a request to the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Karad to dispose of the Sessions Case No.58 of 2014 pending against the present applicant/ accused expeditiously and as far as possible within the period of nine months from the date of the receipt of the writ of this court, communicating the order.

The application is disposed of accordingly.
