The grievance of the petitioner in his application pertains to a specific incident, inter alia, leading to the death of an inmate in the prison. The petitioner has sought appointment of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the said case.

Considering that the incident that has been narrated in detail in the application, we direct the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Mumbai to look into the grievance raised by the petitioner and enquiry about the same within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of the order and file an appropriate report to the Court. 3.

With aforesaid directions, Writ Petition stands disposed of. 4.
