DATE : 25th JUNE, 2019 P.C.

1] We have heard learned counsel for the Petitioner in the above captioned Public Interest Petition and regret that no relief can be granted, much less as prayed for.

2] There existed a Post Office at Virar (East). The condition of the building was dilapidated. As pleaded in the Writ Petition, the Post Office came to be temporarily shifted at the Western side of Virar Railway Station. As per the Petitioner, senior citizens were put to BGP. 1 of 2

discomfort because those who were living on the Eastern Side of Virar city had to go to the Post Office on the Western Side. 3] Suffice it to state, where should a Post Office be temporarily shifted till the existing structure is refurbished, strengthened or repaired, is a policy decision to be taken by the Postal Authorities and a Court cannot determine as to in which building a Post Office needs to be temporarily shifted. Highlighting that even as per the Petitioner, it was a case of temporarily shifting of the Post Office, we dismiss the Petition declining the prayer made that the Post Office should be shifted towards the Eastern Side of Virar Municipal area.
