This is an application for condonation of delay of 56 days in filing the Appeal. The Applicant was convicted and sentenced by Special Judge, Khed, District Ratnagiri, vide his Judgment and Order dated 21/07/2022 passed in Special (POCSO) Case No.18/2020.

Learned counsel submits that the copy which the Applicant was given after his conviction was misplaced by him Nesarikar

2 / 2 07-IA-3995-22-IN-APEAL-ST-19350-22.odt in the prison. Thereafter his family members took some time in getting the certified copy. They also took some time in arranging for finance to engage an advocate. The Applicant comes from a poor financial background and therefore there was delay. 3.

Considering these submissions and in the interest of justice, the delay of 56 days in preferring the Appeal is condoned.
