This is an application through jail. The applicant has prayed that he is in custody for long period of time in connection with an offence punishable under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code. It is stated that at the time of filing application, the applicant is in custody for about 18 months. The applicant has prayed for expediting the trial.

Learned APP tendered a report dated 8th February, 2018 forwarded by police inspector Miraj City Police Station. In the said report it is stated that the applicant is arrested in connection with C.R. No.37 of 2015 for the offences punishable

rpa 2/2 appln-676-16.doc under Sections 302, 120-B read with 34 of IPC. It is further stated that the trial has already commenced and all 13 witnesses are examined by the prosecution. The case is pending for recording the statement of under Section 313 of Criminal Procedure Code and the next date before the trial Court is 12th February, 2018. In this circumstances, no orders are required to be passed in this application, as the trial has already proceeded and the same will be concluded shortly.

Hence, I pass the following order:
