The above Contempt Petition is filed alleging breach of the direction given to decide the Section 16(1)(a) Application under the Railways Act 1989 within a period of six weeks of such application being made. According to the Petitioners, there is a violation of this direction, and therefore, the above Contempt Petition is filed. December 19, 2023 Shraddha Talekar, PS

Today, when the matter is called out, the learned Advocate appearing on behalf of the Petitioners fairly stated that the Authority in question has now decided the Section 16(1)(a) Application, though belatedly.

The learned Addl. GP appearing in above matter has unconditionally apologized for the delay and has stated that the Application now being decided, the Contempt Petition be disposed. 4.

After hearing both the parties and considering that no show cause notice has been issued, we accept the apology tendered by the learned Addl. GP, and dispose of the Contempt Petition accordingly. No order as to costs.
