The Respondent - Contemnor appearing in person has tendered submissions in writing signed by him which are common submissions in both the Contempt Petitions. In paragraph 2 of the written submissions signed by the contemnor appearing in person, he has stated that he has very high regards for the judiciary and therefore, he has tendered an unconditional apology.

In paragraph 3, he has pointed out that he is no longer interested in pursuing the allegations made by him against a Judicial Officer as the said Judicial Officer is no more. The Contempt notices

cr smcp-9.14.odt were issued to the Respondent - Contemnor on the basis of allegations of scandalous nature made by him against the said Judicial Officer. Though the allegations made by him were of very serious nature, considering the approach adopted by the contemnor which is reflected from the written submissions tendered today, his oral statements before the Court and his demeanor, in our view, this is a fit case to take a lenient view and to accept apology. He has shown remorse. The written submissions of the contemnor are taken on record and marked as 'S1' for identification.

Hence, by accepting the apology tendered in paragraph 2 of the written submissions and by taking a lenient view, we are of the view that contempt notices issued to the contemnor deserve to be discharged.

Accordingly, Suo Motu Contempt Petitions are disposed of by accepting the apology. Contempt notices issued to the Respondent are discharged.
