1] The petitioner desires that effective mechanism of combating terrorism must be adopted by the Law Enforcing Agencies. Participation of public at large must be invited, which would largely help the administration in combating terrorism. It is the desire of the petitioner that certain award be conferred on the persons who discharge their duties as vigilant citizens. Award may carry even cash prizes. Certain suggestions are given by the petitioner in the 1/2
PIL.45/2014(8) affidavit-in-reply filed today before the Court. 2] The Counsel appearing for the Union submitted that the Administration and Law enforcing agencies are vigorously involved in combating terrorism.
3] The Counsel submits that it would not be appropriate to issue directions for framing policy as such calling upon the administration to disclose the strategy adopted to combat terrorism. 4] We have perused the record placed before us, considered the issues and submissions advanced. We appreciate the concern of the petitioner.
5] The Union, State Administration and Law enforcing agency would be continuously involved in the process of up-gradation of mechanism adopted for combating terrorism.
6] Suggestions given by the Counsel for the Petitioner could be forwarded to the concerned authorities.
7] The Petition is disposed of accordingly.
