After de-tagging the Criminal Writ Petition No.4116 of 2022, the aforesaid petition is taken up for hearing. By this Petition, the petitioner seeks refund of the amount of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand Only), which was deposited by the petitioner when he was released on Covid bail. 2 3 wp 4119 of 2022.doc Thousand Only). It appears that since the petitioner reported late by one day, the said amount of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand Only), came to be forfeited.
We have perused the reasons for delay and in the peculiar facts find, that the one day delay in reporting late, has been satisfactorily explained by the petitioner.
Considering the aforesaid, the Superintendent of Nashik Road Central Prison, Nashik, to return the amount of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand Only), to the petitioner, as expeditiously as possible, and in any event, within four weeks from the date of receipt of this order.
The Writ Petition is, accordingly, disposed of. Learned APP as well as the Registrar (Judaical-I) to communicate this order to the petitioner, through the Superintendent, Nashik Road Central Prison, Nashik, where the petitioner is lodged.
